【摘要】:5.1Thistestmethodisdesignedtodeterminethetemperatureatwhichathoroughlywettedleatherspecimenexperiencesshrinkage.Inthistestmethod,shrinkageoccursasaresultofhydrothermaldenaturationofthecollagenproteinmoleculeswhichmakeupthefiberstructureoftheleather.Theshrinkagetemperatureofleatherisinfluencedbymanydifferentfactors,mostofwhichappeartoaffectthenumberandnatureofcrosslinkinginteractionsbetweenadjacentpolypeptidechainsofthecollagenproteinmolecules.Thevalueoftheshrinkagetemperatureofleatheriscommonlyusedasanindicatorofthetypeoftannageorthedegreeoftannage,orboth,ofthatparticularleather(especiallyforthemorehydrothermallystabletannagessuchaschrometannage).1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheshrinkagetemperatureofalltypesofleather.Theheatingmediumiswaterwhentheshrinkagetemperatureisatorbelow98176;C.Theheatingmediumisaglycerine-watersolutionwhentheshrinkagetemperatureisabove98176;C.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
