【摘要】:Accuratedeterminationofthedensity,relativedensity(specificgravity),orAPIgravityofpetroleumanditsproductsisnecessaryfortheconversionofmeasuredvolumestovolumesormasses,orboth,atthestandardreferencetemperaturesduringcustodytransfer.Thistestmethodismostsuitablefordeterminingthedensity,relativedensity(specificgravity),orAPIgravityoflowviscositytransparentliquids.Thistestmethodcanalsobeusedforviscousliquidsbyallowingsufficienttimeforthehydrometertoreachequilibrium,andforopaqueliquidsbyemployingasuitablemeniscuscorrection.Whenusedinconnectionwithbulkoilmeasurements,volumecorrectionerrorsareminimizedbyobservingthehydrometerreadingatatemperatureclosetothatofthebulkoiltemperature.Density,relativedensity(specificgravity),orAPIgravityisafactorgoverningthequalityandpricingofcrudepetroleum.However,thispropertyofpetroleumisanuncertainindicationofitsqualityunlesscorrelatedwithotherproperties.Densityisanimportantqualityindicatorforautomotive,aviationandmarinefuels,whereitaffectsstorage,handlingandcombustion.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthelaboratorydeterminationusingaglasshydrometer,ofthedensity,relativedensity(specificgravity),orAPIgravityofcrudepetroleum,petroleumproducts,ormixturesofpetroleumandnonpetroleumproductsnormallyhandledasliquids,andhavingaReidvaporpressureof101.325kPa(14.696psi)orless.1.2Valuesaremeasuredonahydrometerateitherthereferencetemperatureoratanotherconvenienttemperature,andreadingscorrectedtothereferencetemperaturebymeansofthePetroleumMeasurementTables;valuesobtainedatotherthanthereferencetemperaturebeinghydrometerreadingsandnotdensitymeasurements.1.3Valuesdeterminedasdensity,relativedensity,orAPIgravitycanbeconvertedtoequivalentvaluesintheotherunitsatalternatereferencetemperaturesbymeansofthePetroleumMeasurementTables.1.4AnnexA1containsaprocedureforverifyingorcertifyingtheequipmentforthistestmethod.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
