【摘要】:ThistestmethodprovidesbasicengineeringdatathatmaybeusedtodeterminetheamountofVOCavailablefordeliveryattheinletofaVOCcontroldevice(particularlyfortheautomobileindustry).Typically,theprocedureisusefulforestablishingthequantityofVOCthatisevolvedfromthecoatinginthebakingovenandavailabletobeincinerated,althoughthesameprocedurecanbefollowedforotherformsofVOCabatement(thatis,carbon,adsorption,etc.).Thistestmethodmaybeadaptableforusedirectlyinaproductionenvironmentifallthecriticalfactors(forexample,temperature,cleanliness,vibration,accessibility,etc.)canbeadequatelycontrolled.ThetotalamountofVOCremovedfromtheprocessbytheVOCcontroldeviceisafunctionoftheamountavailableasgivenbythistestmethodcombinedwiththeVOCremovalefficiencyofthecontroldevice.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheamountofvolatileorganiccompound(VOC)releasedfromappliedsolventborneautomotivecoatingsthatisavailablefordeliverytoaVOCcontroldevice.Thisisaccomplishedbymeasuringtheweightlossofafreshlycoatedtestpanelsubjectedtosolventevaporationorbakinginalaboratorysimulationoftheproductionprocess.1.2ThistestmethodisapplicabletotheVOCreleasedfromflashoffandbakingoperationsafterthepainthasbeenapplied.1.3Thistestmethodisapplicabletosolventborneautomotivecoatingmaterialsandisintendedtorepresentorsimulatetheproductionprocess.Thesamegeneralprinciplesapplytowaterbornecoatingsthatcontainvolatileorganiccompounds(VOC),althoughspecificproceduraldetailsarenotpresentedhereintodifferentiatebetweenVOCandwater.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
